Church Service
Hi Chrissie.
I saw your ad but it was posted over 4 months ago now! If you are still interested there is a church in Icklesham. I atend a church in Rye which is a short drive away.
Rye baptist church meets every Sunday morning at 10.45 am.
They also have evening meetings, as well as mid week house group meetings.
I hope this helps you!
Let me know if you need to know more.

Church Service
Hiya, my name is Chrissie. I'm thinking about moving to Icklesham and work as an au pair. I would like to know if there is a church there at all. Thank you.

Evacuation 1939
On 1st September 1939 I (aged 12), and 4 of my brothers an sisters were evacuated to Icklesham from Camberwell in London. We were split up, and I went with a couple called Sims. They would have been about 40 (could you judge anyone's age at 12?), and he was a shepherd. They lived in a cottage near the "big house", close to a railway stopping place called Snailham Halt. I have very happy memories of my stay with them: they were childless and I spent about six months there. I think my siblings may have stayed with relatives of theirs. I am now retired to Hove, and am hoping to visit the village during the summer. If anybody who reads this knows of the family I should be very grateful for a reintroduction. Thank you.
